Continuing its tradition of sponsoring SharePoint TechFest and Innotech, Cogent Company has signed on for a sixth year as an Innotech sponsor and fourth year as a sponsor for the largest SharePoint conference in the central region of the United States, SharePoint TechFest. On Thursday, April, 4th, 2013. We’re excited to offer a discounted registration to Innotech Dallas 2013 and SharePoint TechFest 2013. (See below for registration codes.)

Earlier today, Cogent announced the consultants and topics to be presented at SharePoint TechFest and Innotech on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Cogent consultants will be presenting two topics at TechFest:

  • Job Trends in Texas and the Widening Technology Talent Gap. It’s no secret that the technology talent market is hot in Texas and the Southwest US. This is a trend that has been studied by professors at the University of North Texas and the Center for Decision and Information Technology. In this session, one of these professors, Jack Becker, will present the latest months’  data and his analysis of that data… learn where technology jobs are headed, what’s heating up, and what’s not. Building on this discussion of the talent gap that’s developing in the technology fields, Marc Hoppers discuss some of the short- and long-term ways that the talent gap is being addressed by those across tech communities, industry, and government entities. Presented by: Jack Becker, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Management Information Systems, Information Technology and Decision Sciences Department, College of Business, University of North Texas and Marc Hoppers, Founder & Managing Partner, Cogent Company, and Member, Center for Decision and Information Technology, University of North Texas
  • Deploying SharePoint on Azure: The good, bad, and best practices. The cloud is fast becoming accepted in executive offices around the world as both a data and application platform. Microsoft’s Azure cloud solutions provide companies with ways to flex their IT capabilities beyond their current capabilities, and SharePoint’s growth and increasingly improved adoption in enterprises presents a great opportunity to combine these two Microsoft technologies. In this session, we will present the situations where SharePoint fits nicely on Azure, where SharePoint isn’t best suited to be on Azure, and best practices on leveraging these two enterprise technologies. Presented by: Eric Lakey, Partner, Cogent Company, & Robby Valentine, Manager/Architect, Cogent Company

SharePoint TechFest and Innotech will divided into tracks, in which presentations are given by various subject matter experts from System Integrators (SI’s), Learning Partners, Independent Software Vendors (ISV’s) and Microsoft. “Sean and his team do a great job of getting great content pulled together for this event,” said Marc Hoppers, Founder and Managing Partner, Cogent Company. “It’s a great opportunity to for our clients and team to see how other problems are being solved using various types of technology.
